When designing the reducer housing and cover, the requirements of compact structure, convenient casting, light weight and use should also be considered on the premise of meeting the strength and rigidity. Because the reducer shell and shell cover are the components with complex stress in the reducer structure. By setting a widened bearing seat extending to the inside of the shell on the shell, the bearing span of the shaft set on the widened bearing seat is shortened, so as to effectively improve the strength and stability of the shaft during operation.
The reducer housing and housing cover are mostly made of gray cast iron. Single piece production can also be welded with steel plates. Some shells still use castings, while shell covers use weldments. When the technology of some reducer manufacturers can not reach the target, the casting and welding reducer shell and cover can not meet the requirements of users. This leads to low heat dissipation performance, short service life, numerous faults and other problems of the reducer.
The general shell design is cast iron, and the elements contained are divided into base and upper cover. We take the complex upper cover as an example. The subdivision includes the main body, bearing seat, screw fixing hole, etc., which is generally expressed in the form of three views plus partial views.
The cast reducer shell has good rigidity, easy to obtain beautiful shape, and is suitable for mass production. Especially, the reducer shell made of gray cast iron is easy to cut, but the cast reducer shell is heavy. The welded reducer housing is light in weight, saves materials and has a shorter production cycle. However, the welding technology with high requirements is only suitable for single piece production. The reducer shell can be made into straight wall and curved wall. The former is simple in structure but heavy in weight, while the latter is complex in structure but light in weight.
